What is Glutathione?
Glutathione is a combination of three amino acids: glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. It is naturally produced in our cells, and works as an antioxidant to help keep our bodies healthy. Our liver has the highest concentration of glutathione, which makes it helpful in detoxifying our body of toxins.
What depletes our Gluthathione?
Our level of glutathione tends to decrease as we age. Chronic inflammatory diseases such as diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, and rheumatoid arthritis have also been found to be associated with lower levels of glutathione.
How can I increase my level of glutathione?
Glutathione is best administered intravenously. It’s debatable as to how much glutathione is absorbed orally after being broken down in the digestive tract. Increasing your intake of glutathione has been shown to help improve fertility, boost immunity, and help prevent diseases such as dementia, diabetes and cancer.
