Is Inflammation Aging you?

Inflammation is a call for help from your skin.  It is a sad truth that cell damage from inflammation occurs on a daily basis; and that an accumulation of unrepaired damage can contribute to aging.  So, what can you do to let your younger, more vibrant self shine through? Acupuncture!

The goal of Chinese medicine and acupuncture is to restore the balance of Qi, blood, yin and yang (aka energy and vitality).  When the body is unbalanced, tissue can easily be damaged, creating inflammation resulting in wrinkles and unhealthy skin.  One way to prevent damage is by limiting your exposure to harmful substances such as UV light, toxins, chemicals, direct trauma (think excessive exfoliation) and infection. Treatments such as mesotherapy (micro injections of natural substances just under the skin surface), acupuncture and IV vitamin therapy are great ways to nourish and brighten skin.

Here is my trifecta to sustain a vibrant you:

  1. Get a good sleep – regularly.
  2. Move your body! Pick your favorite exercise and get your heart rate up for at least 20 minutes everyday.
  3. Eat healthy fats and add foods rich in antioxidants.  (I love to juice!)
